Fourth grade is an important year because fourth graders assume more responsibilities and make more decisions about their learning. We will be learning all about California through Social Studies, the novels we read, and many of the field trips that we go on.
You will create a interactive notebook and grow exponentially in your reading and writing this school year.  We will read Fiction and Nonfiction books, learning reading skills along the way. In addition, you will learn about Science with our new STEAM and Project Based Learning curriculum. Technology will be a tool that we will use in our classroom the throughout the year.
Most importantly, learning in fourth grade is going to be FUN! It is going to be an exciting school year!  I believe parents can be an invaluable and active resource to the school.  I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and working with you to make fourth grade a great year!

I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Intercultural Communications, and a state of California teaching license. With over seven years teaching at an afterschool program and three years teaching in a classroom environment, and the desire to provide all students with an excellent education, I am confident that I will be a valuable asset to your school district.
My teaching career has been geared towards the empowerment of elementary school children. Throughout the course of my career, I have had wonderful opportunities to teach a variety of groups of students; including those with disabilities, those who perform at grade level, and those who are gifted/exceptional. As a result, I have become proficient in creating differentiated curriculum to accommodate students with multiple intelligences, while engaging students with a hands-on approach to learning.
My greatest strength is being culturally proficient by promoting students’ diversity and differences. I adapt lesson plans to meet their diverse interests, as well as, demonstrate direct connections between the classroom and everyday life. I actively engage eager minds by incorporating a variety of manipulatives, cooperative learning opportunities, and fun activities. I also believe in investing in the school beyond the classroom by becoming actively involved in leadership opportunities. Furthermore, I believe in strong relationships with a proficient foundation of communication between, families, staff and the community.
